For example, Pipes Hudson & Watts, L.L.P., represented owners and operators of contaminated "Superfund" sites in Mississippi and Louisiana, as well as generators of hazardous materials deposited at such sites. The firm has represented various chemical companies in successfully defending claims of personal injury allegedly caused by exposure to toxic chemicals as well as claims of contamination to the environment. The firm serves as outside counsel to the largest chemical manufacturing company in south Alabama, and has provided assistance in the obtaining of air and water permits, defending challenges to those permits, and represented that company and others in administrative and judicial proceedings involving alleged violations of various permits in all medias, air, water and land.
The firm has also successfully obtained compensation for landowners whose land has been contaminated by migration of chemicals from an adjacent chemical truck wash, leaking underground storage tanks, sewage back up and other sources of contamination.
